Have you ever listened to an audiobook before?
There are so many ways in which we can educate ourselves and audiobooks are definitely one of them. Perfect for those who struggle to sit in one place and read or those who prefer to listen instead of reading. Or.. just those who want a little break and hear an inspiring story.
Personally, it took me a long while to give audiobooks a try. And the only reason why I did was because I wanted to hear the work being read by the creators themselves (some authors do the narrative themselves).
Hearing the words being read by my favourite writers made such a huge difference and in no time changed my mind about this way of ‘reading’.
If you like listening to podcasts, then this is a no brainer whatsoever, im sure you’ll enjoy them too.
There are different ways and applications to listen to audiobooks, I personally use Audible due to the huge range of categories available and.. the free trial. Meaning you get your first book free of charge.
Audible is made by Amazon and of course if you already have an Amazon account, it just makes it easier. There is an App which you can download onto your phone and viola.
It’s perfect for commuting or if you can listen to stuff while working.

My Favourite things about Audiobooks:
–
- You can listen on the go (as mentioned before) and of course both online and offline.
- When listening to stories, such as thrillers or comedies – hearing it brings it even more to life. It’s amazing. Especially when having certain accents so, for example think Bridget Jones = very British.
- It’s easy to search for different titles.
- You get one month for free when signing up and can cancel anytime and the books you already downloaded are yours to keep.
- The ability to swap the books, anytime.
- Takes absolutely no room in your luggage, so perfect for travelling.
- Audiobooks are perfect for anytime, even before bedtime with light off. Perfect if you have troubles sleeping.
As much as I love paper books & kindle and still use both – there are many benefits to audiobooks that it just completes my reading routine. Depending where, when and what mood I’m in – being able to choose between the three is very useful.
If you haven’t given it a try yet, by clicking the link below you will get a 1 month free trial and can cancel anytime:

So what are my favourite books I hear you ask?
(I only recently gave audiobooks a try and so my list is huge, but here are my favourites so far.)
First of all, my favourite type of books are in the self-growth or self-help category as well as spiritualism and creativity. They have helped me enormously in my journey and the following titles are definitely some of the ones that made a difference in how I look at the world and life. You might have also known this from the title of this post.. ha.
I have linked all the books to the free trial mentioned earlier – meaning you can ignore the costs and get your first book for free 🙂

My Favourite Self-help / Spiritual Audiobooks
The Law of Attraction: The Basics of the Teachings of Abraham
If you’ve not heard of Abraham Hicks, I understand that it may sound very strange to you – but it’s essentially a ‘group consciousness from the non-physical dimension‘ channelled by Esther Hicks. Yes, yes – I was completely baffled when I first heard it a few years ago but at the same time very intrigued too.
If you are interested in law of attraction, consciousness or spirituality – I definitely recommend checking Abraham’s work out. It’s very unique and quite literally life-changing, if you’re open to it.
The reason why I decided to get the audiobook was that in this case, it’s the actual recording of the transmission. As I have spent hours on YouTube listening to Abraham, it was only natural that I listen to the book as well.
Of course, it was great and I quickly downloaded the next book, which I am currently listening to called ‘Money, and the Law of Attraction’ more on this later.

Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert
As soon as I found out that this audiobook is read by Elizabeth Gilbert herself – I wasted no time and got it right away.
I absolutely love Elizabeth Gilbert. Yes, it started with the super popular and to some cliche, movie: Eat, Pray, Love – which by the way is my all time favourite. The first time I watched it I was blown away, it touched me on a very deep level. I often get people telling me that they felt like its a movie about me when watching it. Yup.
Anyway, if you follow Elizabeth Gilbert on Instagram – you will most likely understand what I mean. She’s an incredible inspiration. Her book has helped me get through some of the hardest times and I love her approach to life, her honesty and vulnerability.
She is real. And this is what its all about.
I love her voice too.. if you haven’t seen her Ted Talk – click here right now <3
Understandably, it’s no surprise that I absolutely fell in love with The Big Magic. I would listen and rewind, listen and rewind. I listened to every single word spoken by her carefully, taking mental and physical notes. Being blown away with the knowledge, creativity and counciousness of the author.
I cannot recommend this book enough.

The Universe Has Your Back: Transform Fear into Faith by Gabrielle Bernstein
Great inspirational book read by the brilliant Gabrielle herself. This again, is about how the universe works and a different perspective of life, law of attraction and so on.

Money, and the Law of Attraction – The Teaching of Abraham by Esther and Jerry Hicks
This is another book of Abraham and I’m enjoying it even more than the first one. So again, if this is something that you’re interested to – I honestly recommend it!
